Proposed governance model

Membership rights and obligations framework

This planning framework separates association membership from non-member affiliation and separates WIMA status from public occupational authorisation. It remains subject to the Articles, formal decisions and Swiss legal review.

Relationship boundaries

Only the proposed Professional Member and Organisation Member classes would be legal association memberships. The other three classes would be contractual programme affiliations.

  • Participation in approved student activities

Obligations under consideration

  • Annual enrolment and conduct declaration
  • Transition or expiry after the approved maximum term

Boundary: Would make no claim about practice rights, competence, licence or employment.

Procedural separation

Future decisions would need independent checks

Administrative completeness and source checks should not decide a contested case. Admission and renewal would need recorded human decisions. Complaint intake would remain separate from investigation, adjudication and appeal. A register operator could implement an authoritative decision but could not change it.

No founder, officer, donor, sponsor, speaker, referral or former website listing would receive a preferential route. Any transitional process would need public rules, the same evidence threshold and a recorded expiry.

Public register and privacy

No applicant would be public. A future public record would require an approved lawful basis, minimum fields, a preview, correction procedure and clear effect of withdrawing any optional publication choice. Identity documents, birth dates, private contact details, screening results, references, payment data, complaints and client files would remain outside the public register and search index.

Membership status and external occupational authorisation would be shown separately. A public WIMA record could verify WIMA status only. It could not certify practice rights or copy a public authority's licence into a WIMA credential.
